You can also find out what your ideal weight is.The formula is: Lean mass divided by 1 - ideal body fat percentage.

Lets use this example again.

175 pounds
fat percentage is 21%
36.75 pounds of fat
138.25 pounds of lean body mass
ideal body fat percentage is 14% (1 - 0.14= 0.86)

Using this formula we get:
138.25 : 0.86= 160.75 pounds

So the ideal weight with 14% of body fat would be 160.75 pounds. If you use this method you will get a much more feedback and you can also make changes according to your results.

How I Lost 30 Pounds In 6 Weeks Using Brad Pilon's Eat Stop Eat Program
That's right, I used the Eat Stop Eat program created by Brad Pilon to lose more than 30 pounds of fat in just under 6 weeks. That's a pretty good amount of weight to lose in just a month and a half. I tried to stick to the program as closely as I could so that I wouldn't skew the results with methods from other weight loss programs.

Some Background Info On Myself 

My name is Kate Kirin and I'm a 26 year old from Los Angeles, CA. I'm 6 foot 2 inches and when I started this program on May 1, 2016, I weighed in at a staggering 214 pounds. Yep, that's pretty big and it showed. As of the writing of this article on June 25, 2016, I currently weigh in at 181 pounds. That is a weight loss of more than 30 pounds. So now that you know a little bit of background on me and my stats, let's get to the program itself.

Brad Pilon's Eat Stop Eat 

This weight loss program is very different from the normal weight loss diet program that has been popular for a while now. In fact, some might say that the Eat Stop Eat method is somewhat controversial. This is mainly because the program does not follow the usual guidelines for weight loss.

Brad's program utilizes a weight loss method known as intermittent fasting.

Simply put, you go through short periods of not eating. Now this is very different from what the diet industry has been telling people to do to lose weight. They say that you need to eat more in order to lose weight. Which if you think about it, sounds kind of crazy don't you think. I mean, how are you going to lose any weight when your eating more and more food.

It takes a calorie deficit of 3,500 calories to lose just 1 pound of body fat. Let me tell you, your not going to get anywhere using the conventional wisdom of eat more to lose more. This was a huge problem for me in the past when I tried to lose weight before on other programs. I would lose like 5 or 6 pounds and then end up over eating and losing my weight loss and in some cases, gaining back more than I'd lost.

Eat Stop Eat Pros 

This program for me just works. Plain and simple. It's a simple bare bones approach to weight loss. It does not require you to eat 6 times a day or spend tons of time planning, or preparing meals. It also does not require that you count or weigh your food for calories. This was a big plus for me because I've got enough to due to keep me busy rather than spending all day cooking and eating.

It is extremely flexible and will work with your current nutrition plan. So basically you can just eat how you are now. In my opinion, you could just follow the information about how to perform the intermittent fast and still lose weight without exercise. However, for the best results I recommend that you incorporate some physical activity. That's what I did and it has worked like a charm.

Eat Stop Eat Cons 

Brad recommends that you workout for best results. Well, I don't think this is a con but some people just hate working out. If that's you, sorry. Just try to get some physical activity in everyday. It's good for you, trust me.

This program is unfortunately not geared towards those with health problems. It's not recommended for those with diabetes or other medical conditions. Brad says this because he has only tried it on healthy people in tests and has not done any extensive testing on people with medical conditions.

The Bottom Line 

So my bottom line for the Eat Stop Eat diet program by Brad Pilon is that it works. I've used this program and have lost 30 pounds of fat in just 6 weeks. I've only reached my half way point and am shooting for another 25 pounds weight loss. So I definitely see myself achieving my weight loss goals with this program. Also, I find the program extremely easy to follow without feeling hungry or starved. I think a lot of people are going to find this program very beneficial.

10 Tips to Lose 10 Pounds Fast - Weight Loss Simplified
Are you tired of gaining back the weight which you worked so hard to lose? Well today I'm going to show ya' how to smack those extra 10lbs off your body for good! And not just any regular 10lbs, I mean 10lbs of fat. For those of you who know what I'm all about, you know that "weight loss" doesn't involve losing muscle. That is one type of weight I'd like to KEEP, and so I shall!

10 Tips to Lose 10 Pounds Fast

And I selected these 10 tips very carefully, to make it as fool-proof for as possible... because let's face it, there are some real dorks out there that love to play the weight-loss yo-yo. I bet if that was a product, I'd sell like hot cakes! But the point is, losing "weight" isn't that hard, in fact its VERY easy.

Easier than you think... What's hard is keeping your body at a weight you want for the long run. That's way more challenging... But luckily for you, I've made the process as painless as possible.

The key to all this weight loss comes from boosting our metabolism. This key aspect is why some people can "naturally" stay skinny, and we are about to mimic this process. So, let's being...

Tip 1: First thing's first, NO SKIPPING BREAKFAST WHAT-SO-EVER. No matter how many times I drill and repeat this concept into people, some still do it to this very day. Not sure how much more clearly I can state this... and I'm not willing to try. Just stop skipping breakfast. The reason being is because when you get up, your metabolic rate is HIGH... VERY HIGH.

Whatever you eat will be incinerated, so take advantage of this... But don't use it as an excuse to eat crap. The ideal breakfast should be lots of fruits + some form of protein (eggs, whey, milk, tofu etc.) along with a full glass of COLD water.

Tip 2: Do a kitchen-raid. Run through it like a tornado... But a tornado that sucks up and destroys all the junk food in it's path. YOU HAVE to do this if you are going to make your weight loss efforts last. Get rid of candies, high sugar granola bars, cookies, high-sodium crackers, ice cream etc. Leave no bad choice available and you wont cheat.

If you WANT to have goodies at some point, give yourself a "spoil day"... A spoil day is one day of the week were you can go OUT and in SMALL proportions enjoy some of the finer things that aren't so great for your health. But if you are really serious about losing these 10lbs, forget cheating all together. It's ok, you'll live, I promise.

Tip 3: Cut your sugar cravings by at least 65-70%. After performing step 2, you should have already cut out about 60% of your sugar intake, but now you need to go that extra mile and REDUCE your sugar intake where you can. But notice how I DIDN'T say cut out 100% of sugar.

That's bad, our bodies LOVE sugar, glucose is our PRIMARY source of fuel, but simple sugars is a cheap way of going about it. After following all the 10 tips I have listed here, your sugar cravings should go away within 2 weeks, but if you need something to get you by, here are some alternatives: Chewable 1g of Vitamin C, Frozen dark grapes (they taste like skittles!), Green Tea + Stevia ( A healthy sugar-alternative) or Baby Carrots.

Tip 4: Carbs are fine, as long as they are low-glycemic. This means that when you eat the following foods, it takes the body LONGER to metabolize them into blood glucose and therefore they don't spike your insulin such as a doughnut or a chocolate chip cookie. Here are some examples of carbs you SHOULD be eating: vegetables, fruits, whole grains & beans.

Tip 5: Eat foods that are thermogenic as often as possible. Optimally, it should be ALL the time, but that's a little unrealistic... Or is it? So you might be wondering, what are "thermogenic foods"? Well my future skinny friend, they are foods that cause your body to increase it's metabolism and burn fat! So imagine eating these types of foods every meal? You're practically GUARANTEED to shed the pounds.

Here are some examples of thermogenic foods: green tea, cayenne pepper, mustard, ginger, all types of protein (chicken, fish, egg whites, turkey, cottage cheese, soy, beef, yogurt etc). If you can't eat these types of "foods" during your meal, I'm going to show you a very simple way to make ANY meal thermogenic... ORGANIC HOT SAUCE!

That's right, most types of hot peppers will cause an increase in metabolism, so start training your taste-buds to handle some fire and you will be on your way to a more shredded body.

Tip 6: Nothing after 9pm. I don't care what you've done during the day, after 9pm you don't eat. If you're truly desperate, you may munch on HIGH-WATER content fruits or vegetables or green-tea. That is the only exception. This one technique alone will probably help you lose 2-3lbs per week. That's about 12 lbs a month with almost no other change at all!

Tip 7: This will sound counter-productive, but you need to eat HEALTHY fats. There is a more technical name for "healthy" fat... Its called monounsaturated fats, these include: avocados, olive oil, canola oil, omega 3 fats in walnuts, almonds, fish and fish oil).

I believe it was the British Journal of Clinical Nutrition which concluded that JUST switching to monounsaturated fats in your eating habits will result in a significant amount of fat loss. And really, how hard is it to substitute these things into your lifestyle? My guess is that its not.

Tip 8: Plan & Track! That's right, write down EVERYTHING you put in your mouth and then at the end of the day, read it over and see if you broke any of the rules mentioned in this article. When you see what you're doing wrong, its easier to fix. You might have a super sharp memory, but from my experiences, I've dealt with quite a few loonballs. They forget half the things they put into their mouths, so the best bet is to be on the safe side and write everything down.

Tip 9: Eat 5-6 small meals a day, NO EXCEPTIONS. This frequency is critical to keep your metabolic rate in high-gear. If you recall, I said that in the mornings, your metabolic rate is at it's highest, well if you don't do anything about it, it will drop like a rock. Eating small and consistent meals every few hours is a sure-fire way of making sure that your metabolic rate is maintained at a high rate.

Tip 10: And finally, do high-intensity resistance workouts as soon as you wake up. Before brushing your teeth, or having any food. Just drink one glass of COLD water and start doing a workout routine with targeted exercises guaranteed to target fat loss. This tip is the rocket-fuel that you should add to your weight loss fire. It is single-handedly responsible for giving me 7% body fat, after which I used nutrition strategies to drop to 6%.

How To Lose Five Pounds in a Week
Obesity presents a fairly common problem, and that's why so many of us are often concerned how to lose five pounds in a week. However, fighting obesity is often reduced to fighting extra weight - which is totally wrong! Losing weight does not necessarily mean you are losing fat.

If someone tells you he or she had lost, say, five pounds, does it mean that this person had lost five pounds of extra fat? Not necessarily. Body weight is a total measure that consists of the mass of fat, bones, muscles, internal organs and various bodily fluids.

How To Lose 5 Pounds in a Week

Let's consider an example. On day one, you eat and drink so much that on day two you can't even think of food. So, on day two you eat nothing and drink nothing. If you weigh yourself on the following morning, the weight loss may be quite substantial - up to five pounds or more. In other words, a day of fasting helped you lose, say, 5 pounds. How much of it would be fat?

Zilch! - for a simple reason that all that weight loss resulted from expending nutrients, evacuating undigested food you had eaten the day before and losing water through sweat, urination and moisture in exhaled air. Total weight lost: five pounds, total fat lost: zero.

Here's another example. In hot weather, your body may be losing quite a bit of water sweating. You can also lose a lot of water when it is not hot - by taking diuretics. Under such circumstances, you may lose five pounds or even up to 10 pounds, while the amount of fat lost, just as in the previous example, would still be zero.

By the way, unscrupulous "dietitians" may sometimes use this effect to cheat their clients, telling them that this is how they can lose five pounds in a week. They may pose certain diuretics-laced drinks or cocktails as obesity medication to keep the patient happy about losing the hateful extra weight. Such weight loss remedies may often contain laxatives as well. This is a good way to go, since many obese individuals are regularly constipated and this method can certainly cause them to lose five pounds. So it is only natural that evacuating their bowels more often will lead to weight loss. However, don't be naive: the weight you lose this way has nothing to do with losing fat.

As we have explained before, one may often lose weight way faster than fat. A question then arises: can you lose five pounds "honestly", through losing fat alone? It all depends on the diet selected. The purpose of any remedial fat-loss diet is to create a negative energy balance and thus prompt the body to expend its own stores of fat.

For example, in order to maintain body weight level, energy intake through food must be equal to energy expenditures. For weight loss to occur, one needs to create a negative energy balance, that is, expend more energy than the body receives.

Diets may be classified as follows by the size of daily calorie intake they allow for:

1. Regular Diet owes its name to the fact that its allowed daily calorie intake roughly equals the body's daily requirement, 1,700-2,200 cal. With such a diet, the negative energy balance would amount to about 200-500 cal a day, so the body would lose weight slowly, in 20-50 grams daily increments.

2. Reduced Calorie Diet: daily intake of 1,200-1,500 cal, negative energy balance: 500-900 cal, daily fat loss: about 50-100 grams.

3. Rigid Diet: daily intake of 400-800 cal, negative energy balance: 1,400-1,800 cal, daily fat loss: up to 200 grams.

As a rule, regular diet is not particularly popular for weight loss purposes since the loss of fat would occur at a very slow rate - this would not cause you to lose five pounds in a week. Rigid diet would ensure the fastest rate of weight loss, but many find it quite painful. Hence the reduced calorie diet, as a compromise.

Quite apart stands the total fasting whereas the body receives no nutrients at all, only water. Total fasting is quite popular since it is easier to bear than the rigid diet and it is possible to lose five pounds quickly.

But let us ask ourselves a question here: did the entire weight loss occur on account of fat? Of course not! A fasting body expends very little energy, 1,800-2,000 cal daily at the maximum, which corresponds to the loss of about 200g of fat (the same as with the rigid diet).

Whatever other weight loss there is occurs through expending energy from other soft tissues. Some of the weight loss comes through reduction of muscle mass since the protein in the muscles is the only nutrient capable of being converted into glucose.

While fasting, the body is forced to use up muscle tissue to convert protein into glucose. Glucose would be needed to synthesize a catalyst for the Krebs Cycle, which is the main bodily process for producing energy. Body fat serves as fuel within the Krebs Cycle, but a catalyst (synthesized from glucose) is needed to burn that fuel.

Unfortunately, glucose gets expended, little by little, and thus needs to be replenished. Thus fasting offers yet another example whereas total weight loss exceeds the loss of fat. So, if you ever decide to fast, don't read too much into the quick weight loss and don't believe that this is how to lose five pounds in a week because you have not lost much fat.

Remember, the actual fat loss here would only amount to about 200g per day. Thus, we are in a good position now to answer that question we asked earlier: how fast can you reduce your weight "honestly", through losing fat alone? The answer should be 200g per day at the maximum. If you lose more than that, make sure you know what accounts for that difference.

To be sure, with the rigid diet the actual weight loss may at time exceed the theoretical 200g, which would mean that the body is "eating up" some of the soft tissue. In such a case one would need to revise daily rations to make sure that the body is getting enough carbohydrates to synthesize sufficient catalyst for the Krebs Cycle, rather than use the protein from its own soft tissues for that purpose.

Tip #2: Strengthen yourself mentally against the naysayers. You might be of a healthy Body Mass Index (BMI), and people probably tell you all the time that you don't "need" to lose weight. But this is your goal and your vision, so FORGET ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE in order to lose 10 pounds in a month.

Women often want to please other people and not seem selfish, so much so that they put their own desires on the back burner. If we are not mentally strong enough to stick to our guns, all those people who say, "You don't need to lose weight," or "Oh come one, one glass of wine won't hurt you," or "Do you have an eating disorder or something?" will hinder progress towards your goal. And as it often happens, whenever women try to please other people in a way that conflicts with their own desires, they end up feeling bad, guilty and resentful. Those unsupportive people more than likely feel threatened by you and your goals, because they see you achieving what they can't. It really has nothing to do with you at all.

In this case, it's useful to act more like a man. Create your goal, focus on it, and don't let anything get in your way of achieving it. This is a critical behavior to success. Don't worry, you don't have to act like a man forever, but for a month you have to be laser focused and believe 100% in your mission.

Tip #3: Get help. If you really knew how to lose 10 pounds in a month, you would have already done it, right? It's time to acknowledge that you could use some help. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. In fact, it is a sign of strength and humility, and the most successful people in the world have a LOT of help. If this is really important to you, then it should be worth investing a small amount of time and/or money to receive the guidance of an expert who has taught many people how to lose 10 pounds in a month.

If you only eat protein or only drink lemonade or only eat cookies for a month, your body is going to scream at you because you are hurting it. You will feel horrible and you will probably gain all of your weight back (and possibly more) by going on a very restrictive and unhealthy diet for a month.

There are weight loss plans that offer complete nutrition and teach healthy eating habits that will help you maintain your weight loss. There are also some programs which advocate intermittent fasting, when you don't eat for a period of time in order to trick your metabolism and eat healthy foods on all other days. Occasional fasting is healthy, but only for 24 hours at a time.

Tip #5: Believe that it is possible. Henry Ford said, "Whether you think you can or can't, you are right." If you do not think it is possible to lose 10 pounds in one month, then you most certainly will not! Having at least one supportive person in the form of a health coach, spouse, family member or friend is critical, because that person will believe in you even when you doubt yourself. Have pictures of yourself at the weight you want to be, and post them up in your home. See yourself as that person, and you will be amazed at how quickly you will become that person again because that person is inside you!

Women must absolutely take all these tips into account. Jumping into the mechanics a diet without a direction or a reason usually leads to failure.
