How to Lose 10 Pounds in a Week - The 8 Steps That Allowed Me To Lose 10 LBS In a Week

As my wedding date approached, I was determined to shed some pounds quickly. After the first week, I had lost a remarkable thirteen (13) pounds, followed by an additional ten (10) pounds in the second week. Though this approach may not have been the most nutritionally sound, it was certainly effective.

Seeing the results of my rapid weight loss motivated me to continue on my journey to long-term weight loss using healthier, natural strategies. I would like to share with you the details of what I did during the second week of my journey that enabled me to lose 10 pounds in just a week.

how to lose 10 pounds in a week

We are aware that losing weight quickly is not beneficial for our health. Following are the steps that I implemented to successfully lose 10 pounds in a week:

1. Day 1 was detox.

Detoxification has become a popular solution for weight loss, as it helps the body rid itself of accumulated toxins accumulated from an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. Detox programs can be a great way to jumpstart weight loss, as they focus on helping the body clear out toxins and reduce inflammation, as well as providing dietary and lifestyle recommendations to help you achieve your weight loss goals.

Whenever I felt myself getting hungry throughout the day, I would drink my cleanse drink which was a mixture of lemon juice, ginger, honey and water. I only did this for one day, and it was easy to follow - just drink whenever I got hungry! I usually do a 10 day detox that I call the Lemonazing Cleanse, but that's not what I did this week.

2. Control how much you eat.

I followed a simple rule when it came to my diet: my plate should have half veggies (no potatoes), a quarter of lean meats or fish, and the rest should be fruits (no bananas). I ate plenty of vegetables, lean meats, lean fish, eggs, and some apples and oranges.

While eating less did help me reach my goal of rapid weight loss, it's not the best option for long-term weight loss. Eating less can be a real struggle, but I'm glad I achieved my goal and am satisfied with the results.

3. I then added 2 apples and a can of black beans to my diet

I split the beans into a few smaller meals and ate veggies on the side, which is an incredibly effective trick that other diets don't often mention. Beans are an incredibly nutritious food, containing high amounts of protein, magnesium, iron, zinc, soluble fiber and potassium.

4. I started eating breakfast and stopped eating late at night

By adding breakfast to my daily routine, I not only started burning calories earlier in the day, but I also noticed an increase in my energy levels throughout the day. In addition, I made sure to drink at least 10 glasses of water every day. Water has many benefits, including cleansing your system, increasing metabolism, and reducing hunger.

Did you know that 80% of the time when we feel hungry, our bodies are actually just telling us we need to drink more water? To further promote healthy weight loss, I also followed the rule of not eating after 7pm or 3 hours before bedtime.

5. I increased the frequency of my meals as well as reducing the portion size.

I switched from having 2 large meals to eating 5 smaller meals throughout the day in order to maintain a consistent level of fullness and hunger.

6. Cut back on high-fat, sugary and unhealthy food

When I felt tempted to eat something unhealthy, I would try to consume it earlier in the day. My metabolism is higher in the morning, so my body has more time to process the food. This allowed me to indulge my sweet tooth with a donut occasionally, but no more than twice a week.

7. Head to the fresh fruit section of your grocery store instead of buying fruit juices

If you need to drink juice, consider buying a juicer and making it yourself. Alternatively, water and unsweetened green tea are healthier options when you're thirsty.

8. Stay motivated and stay busy

If you are preoccupied with work, family, friends, etc., it is easy to neglect the kitchen and suddenly realize half the day has gone by. Taking this into account is more important than you may realize.

You might believe that this plan is too basic to allow you to lose 10 pounds in one week, but if you stick to it precisely, I guarantee you will see results.
